It is with great pleasure, I announce the eight new members who have accepted their bids to join the brothers of the Virginia Xi chapter in their collegiate years and on. This year was an enormous challenge for our Vice-President of Recruitment, Brendan Sumpter, with the challenges of CDC and University guidelines limiting interaction to a minimum. It is through his hard work and the continuous effort and support of the recruitment committee, that we were able to recruit so well. So, without further ado, here are the eight new members of the Virginia Xi Chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon.
The first of the new members is SigEp legacy, Bailey Carter. His father was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon at Old Dominion University from ’87 to ’93. He is from Midlothian ,VA but has made the trip down to Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA and plans to major in Exercise Science.
Our second new member is Colby Watts. Originally from Cape May Court House, NJ, Colby has also made quite a trip to attend Old Dominion University. With an intended major in Mechanical Engineering, he fits perfectly into the large majority of brothers that are of the same degree.
Our third member is Ray Pleasants. Ray is from Powhatan, VA and plans to major in Music Education. He joins our Academic Advisor and Renaissance Brother, Joe Ritchie, as brothers who have an inclined musical talent. To say the least, we are looking forward to seeing and hearing him excel at Old Dominion.
Our next new member is Massimiliano “Max” Asquini. Though Max was born in Udine, Italy (ITA), he moved to Burke in Northern Virginia before coming to Old Dominion University. He has chosen to follow his love for the beautiful game (soccer) and pursue a degree in Sports Management.
Tristan Hebb is our fifth new member to join the Virginia Xi chapter. He has made the trip up from Valdosta, Georgia to pursue his degree in Nursing. Although, upon getting to know him, he does have a huge interest in business as well.
Christopher Shelton, our sixth new member, is from Strasburg, VA and plans to major in, you guessed it, Civil Engineering, . Chris has already adjusted extremely well to the college setting as he has not only joined SigEp, but also the Old Dominion Club Baseball Team.
Barron Cohen, one of our more local new members, is from Fredericksburg, VA and pursuing a Mechanical Engineering degree. This dual athlete excelled in Football, and Lacrosse throughout High School and even brought home a state championship ring in Football.
Our eighth and final new member is Xavier Trump who is from Chapmanville, WV and intends to major in Marine Biology, As a finalist for this years Balanced Man Scholarship, we knew that he’d be a great addition to the fraternity and we are looking forward to watch him excel throughout his first year.
To say the least, we are excited to see these young men develop in our chapter, and continue on the great path our chapter is on currently. VDBL
